Blind Fishing Boat Lands Key Sponsors Laurentian Marine and Bombardier Recreational Products

Ottawa, February 18 - Lawrence Euteneier, founder of Blind Fishing Boat.Com, welcomes aboard new sponsors Laurentian Marine of Ottawa and Bombardier Recreational Products.

"Installing the new Evinrude 115hp E-Tech outboard motor on the new 20-foot power catamaran will increase accessibility for fishers with visual disabilities," says Euteneier, designer of the world's first fishing boat for the blind.

"All boaters have found themselves in low-visibility situations," says Alfred McDonald, owner and general manager of Laurentian Marine. "The innovations coming from Blind Fishing Boat for operating boats safely when visibility is an issue make a lot of sense."

Specifically, the technology enables important system information to be spoken aloud. Boat operators hear key messages and, instead of reading gauges, can focus on the immediate activities of finding fish or towing skiers. The Evinrude E-Tech's ability to communicate multiple commands to the on-board network makes this possible.

Bombardier's Evinrude E-Tech outboards comply with National Marine Electronic Association standards and European Union 2006 emission standards.

Euteneier will be on deck demonstrating his navigation technologies for the blind at the Laurentian Marine Exhibit, Ottawa Outdoor Show, Saturday afternoon, February 23rd.

Laurentian Marine, family-owned and run since 1993, provides superior quality boats, motors, marine parts and accessories, supported by professional, knowledgeable and courteous service.
