Large Print Keyboards for Apple/Mac Users

Computer keyboards in large print for the visually impaired or for those of us who are experiencing vision loss due to just aging have been available for many years.

There are plenty of manufacturers to choose from and several options, but most of them are based on the Windows PC operating system.  Not everyone with failing eyesight has a PC!  There are Apple/Mac users who are aging or who have developed Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Glaucoma or any other serious eye conditions.

Many Windows PC based keyboard manufacturers claim that their keyboards are Mac compatible . While nearly any USB Windows PC keyboard will work partially on your Macintosh, most of these keyboards have several extra function keys which are only supported on Windows.  This means that when pressed,  they may very well do nothing, something unpredictable, or worse-case do something you don’t want to happen.  Another frustration users  may experience using a Windows keyboard is that on initial startup a Mac may have problems recognizing the 'alien' keyboard and require users to follow on-screen instructions that can be  annoying and time consuming to the user.

Finally the Apple user has a keyboard that fits his/her operating system!  LogicKeyboard ™ offers the Mac user a solution.   The Apple keyboard offered by LogicKeyboard ™ with numeric keypad is an authentic 109 key Apple keyboard and features an elegant, ultrathin anodized aluminum enclosure with low-profile keys that provide a crisp, responsive feel. It also has function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, fast-forward and rewind, Exposé, and Dashboard. Other features include two USB 2.0 ports which enable you to connect your mouse as well as a high-speed peripheral such as a digital camera or printer.  The scissor-switch key mechanisms are quite and the keys require less force to press allowing us to boast a lifespan of over 10 million keystrokes. All this in large print and a full one year warranty.
