Tobii ATI Unveils New C15 AAC Eye Tracking Device to

Provide Communication and Speech Support to People with Disabilities

Life-changing communication device offers large screen size, eye tracking and greater portability

DEDHAM, Mass -- Tobii Assistive Technology, Inc. (Tobii ATI), the premier developer of innovative eye tracking and speech technology solutions for people with disabilities, today announced that they will unveil the Tobii ATI C15, their latest in life-changing communication devices for the disabled, at ATIA in Orlando, FL (January 26-29, 2011, Booth # 501). With the C15, individuals with disabilities can easily engage in daily communication simply by using their eyes or through text or symbols that generate speech.

Whether an individual has Cerebral Palsy, autism, ALS or may have incurred a brain injury, Tobii ATI devices are changing lives, making it possible for people with disabilities to lead integrated lives. The release of the new Tobii ATI C15 expands the family of communication devices designed to assist anyone in the need of communication and speech support. The C15 features an innovative 15-inch LED screen, Windows© 7 functionality and on-board, hot swappable batteries allowing for greater portability. The larger screen permits the person viewing it a wide range of head movements without moving out of range. The device’s LED screen is also more efficient. The C15 can be controlled in many ways including with a built in touch screen, keyboard, mouse, head mouse, switches or the CEye, Tobii ATI’s industry leading eye tracking unit.

Tobii ATI’s eye tracking feature enables computers to determine precisely where a person is looking. Instead of a keyboard and mouse, the user simply uses their gaze to type out words to turn into speech, or connect with others through e-mail, text messaging and chat, surf the Web, and manage their day – making independence easier than ever before. The CEye can be added after purchase if the need arises, allowing even greater flexibility.

“The C15 completes our C-Series family which has already given so many individuals a way to live more fulfilled and independent lives just by using their eyes or touch,” said Tara Rudnicki, president of Tobii ATI. “With the C15 we extended the power and portability of our well proven C8 and C12 onto a 15-inch LED device. Not only can our clients tell their caretakers when they are hungry, but now they can connect with friends online and go out into the world without the worry of limited battery life. These devices have opened up a new world for them.”

The Tobii ATI C15 can be ordered now and will be available late Q1 2011.
