Political News: Barack Obama

Recently hundreds of people from the disability community participated in the national Obama Disability Policy Conference Call to learn more about Barack Obama's Plan to Empower Americans with Disabilities. The sponsors were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and excitement in our community for Barack Obama.

The  sponsors want to make sure that everyone has a chance to participate in our continuing discussion of issues important to the disability community. Here's what you can do:

(1) Read the transcript of the Obama Disability Policy Conference Call by going to www.BarackObama.com/issues/disabilities. A link to the transcript can be found at the bottom of the page.

(2) Read Barack Obama's Plan to Empower Americans with Disabilities and watch his video discussing the Plan.  Both the Plan and the video are available at www.BarackObama.com/issues/disabilities.

(3) Join the Obama Disability Policy Discussion group on MyBarackObama.com.  Just go to http://my.barackobama.com/page/group/ObamaDisabilityDiscussion and click on "Join Group."  Then, participate in the discussion, write a "post," comment on someone else's post, share your ideas, stories, insights, and comments. We want to hear from you.

Thank you for your efforts with people with disabilities and their families,
Stan Klein
